Elemental Zombie Apocalypse

The Project

The aim of the game is to survive the Zombie Apocalypse! You must kill the zombies with your weapons before they kill you. You can kill them by clicking to punch or shoot them. Press the green flag to start. Use the arrow keys to move around the map. The player has the option to enter the bunker to purchase weapons and armor in the shop. You can customize your character with the armor you have bought. The game is over when the player is defeated by the zombies and runs out of Health Points (HP). Tell us about your project. Why did you choose to make this project? I play a game like this with my friends outside at school. It’s called Elementary Zombie Apocalypse!! I decided I’d like to programme a virtual version of this game in Scratch. This is the type of game my 9 year old friends and I like to play. What did you find difficult while making your project and how did you work it out? Lots of different scenarios came up that I had to solve as I coded this game. One of the most difficult elements was how to exit the bunker. I worked it out by broadcasting a message that kick started the whole project. It was difficult to make the game scroll. I achieved this by setting the size of the map to 500 and used the arrow keys to move around the background. Is there anything you would do differently or you would add if you had more time? I would like to add more opportunities for the player to earn Experience Points (XP). I would like to summon a boss so you could kill it and earn diamonds or some other gemstone. This would add more excitement and suspense to the game and give an opportunity for the player to craft extra gear. I would like to add more weapons and zombies to make the game more interesting. Adding dimensional armor would banish the zombies to the Terrestrial but this would break within 30 uses. The player would have to enter the Terrestrial to craft the dimensional armor to keep the zombies trapped there. Some zombies on low Health Points (HP) would die due to being sucked through a wormhole. I would like to make a cloud multiplayer version of my game so that I could play with my friends in a socially distant way. I think this would encourage teamwork which is a good thing.
