Clean School, Green School

The Project

In our school, small children often throw garbage anywhere because they don’t know which type of waste goes in which bin. This makes the school dirty and unhealthy. To help them learn, I made a Scratch project called “Bin It Right!” In this game: There are different coloured bins: 🟢 Green for wet waste, 🔵 Blue for dry waste, 🔴 Red for harmful waste. Different items of garbage appear (like banana peel, plastic bottle, battery, etc.). The player has to drag and drop the item into the correct bin. If the item is placed correctly, the player gets +1 point. If it's placed in the wrong bin, -1 point is given. What inspired it? I saw that younger students in my school didn’t know how to separate waste properly. They threw all types of garbage in one place, making the school dirty. So I thought – let’s teach them through a game they’ll enjoy! What was difficult? Creating and placing the right types of garbage items. Matching the garbage to the correct bin logic. Making the score increase or decrease based on correct or wrong answers.
