The Project

What is this project about? PassHero is a fun and educational Scratch game where players learn how to create strong passwords and remember them through interactive mini-games. If they ever forget a password, an AI helper gives clever hints to jog their memory—just like a real digital assistant! The goal is to teach password safety in a playful, engaging way, especially for kids and first-time internet users. What inspired it? We noticed that many people, especially children and older adults, struggle with creating strong passwords and remembering them. Some even use the same easy password everywhere! That’s risky. We wanted to make learning about password safety fun and easy, turning a boring topic into a game that actually sticks. What was difficult? The hardest part was balancing learning with fun. We had to design mini-games that are both enjoyable and educational. Creating the AI helper to give useful (but not too obvious!) hints was also tricky—it had to feel helpful without giving away the answer directly. We learned a lot about both coding and cybersecurity while building this project!
