Kawasak.AI: A Raspberry Pi-Powered Artificial Intelligence Tool for Kawasaki Disease Early Diagnosis

The Project

When my younger sister was 3 years old, she had Kawasaki disease, the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children. She was initially misdiagnosed, like many other patients due to the fact that Kawasaki disease has no specific test for diagnosis and is often confused with its look-alike diseases. My sister, as well as the thousands of other children who are diagnosed with Kawasaki disease annually, inspires me to try and develop a tool which can assist with early diagnosis to prevent missed cases and allow for timely and effective treatment. In this project, I developed a prototype of interfacing a deep learning model with a Raspberry Pi, which I built with a touchscreen display and camera module for live image capture with up .
