BirdOMonitor
The Project
Human-caused climate change has reduced urban green spaces, leading to poorer air quality and declining biodiversity. To help monitor park health, I developed the BirdOMonitor, an AI-powered system that listens to bird calls to track their population trends. A solar-powered, portable recording device captures the calls, which are transformed into spectrograms and classified by a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The model tracks bird population changes and sends real-time data to a website. The BirdOMonitor supports ecologists, researchers, and city planners by offering an efficient and effective way to monitor biodiversity using Artificial Intelligence.
