The Project
This project can convert provided text from a short story to a RPG game with characters and dialogues. The users can customize their characters by changing the color, which can increase their interests in reading.
Team Comments
I chose to make this project because...Many individuals find traditional storytelling formats lead to a decreased interest in written content and also not engaging enough for the readers to establish a reading habit. Converting short stories or articles to a virtual novel-like game can allow the readers to be more engaged in reading.
What I found difficult and how I worked it outThe hardest challenge I met is associating each dialogue with the respective characters. I tried my best to solve the problem through Python AI, which can identify the speakers even without the their names before or after the dialogues.
Next time, I would...If I had more time, I would improve the art of this project, such as adding more templates of characters and varied backgrounds. I would also improve the algorithm for detecting the dialogues, since it does not work in extreme cases.
