The Project

This project can convert provided text from a short story to a RPG game with characters and dialogues. The users can customize their characters by changing the color, which can increase their interests in reading.

Team Comments

Many individuals find traditional storytelling formats lead to a decreased interest in written content and also not engaging enough for the readers to establish a reading habit. Converting short stories or articles to a virtual novel-like game can allow the readers to be more engaged in reading.

The hardest challenge I met is associating each dialogue with the respective characters. I tried my best to solve the problem through Python AI, which can identify the speakers even without the their names before or after the dialogues.

If I had more time, I would improve the art of this project, such as adding more templates of characters and varied backgrounds. I would also improve the algorithm for detecting the dialogues, since it does not work in extreme cases.
