The Project

My project features a smart band and a main control unit. The smart band monitors the driver’s pulse rate and alcohol levels, ensuring safety and compliance. The main control unit measures the car's speed accurately and integrates with the smart band to detect if the driver is under the influence of alcohol. If alcohol consumption is detected, the system automatically alerts the nearest police station, providing the car number and driver details. This allows authorities to impose fines or e-challans promptly. The system enhances road safety by preventing drunk driving and ensuring swift law enforcement response, making roads safer for everyone.

I chose to make this project because...

The majority of accidents worldwide are caused by drowsy or drunk driving, leading to significant loss of life and numerous injuries. Last year alone, approximately 42,915 people lost their lives due to such accidents. These preventable tragedies highlight the urgent need for improved safety measure

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

The challenging part of my project was establishing a wireless connection between the band and the main device. After extensive research and testing, I found Bluetooth to be the most convenient solution.

Next time, I would...

Given more time, I would develop an app to integrate the monitoring functionality into smartwatches. This would eliminate the need for users to wear an additional band for pulse rate monitoring, as their existing smartwatch could perform the same task. This integration would enhance convenience and
