The Project

VitalMatcher is a mobile application designed to facilitate organ donation in Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, and Shivamogga. The app connects individuals in need of organ transplants with relevant contact numbers for various types of organ donations. Users can easily access a list of contact numbers categorized by organ type, such as kidneys, eyes, heart, and more. The app ensures that users quickly find the appropriate contact information to initiate the donation process. By providing a centralized and easy-to-navigate platform for organ donation contacts, VitalMatcher simplifies the process and supports the urgent needs of both donors and recipients.

Team Comments

I created VitalMatcher after my relatives in Shivamogga couldn't find organ donors, leading to their deaths. The app connects people in need of organs with contact numbers for donors, ensuring no one else faces the same tragic outcome due to a lack of accessible donor information.

The main difficulty was finding the number of recipients for the donors. This required extensive research to gather accurate and reliable information. I overcame this challenge by collaborating with hospitals and organ donation networks to compile a comprehensive and accessible list of contacts.

With additional time, my focus would shift to launching the app on the Play Store. This step would significantly enhance accessibility and usability, expanding our reach to a broader audience.
