The Project

My project is an environmentally themed game in which the character, Charlie, has to save Earth from the ignorant Plutonians who damaged the environment. He has to evade the toxic hazards and sentry robots and acquire the 5 orbs, in a five level platformer game.

I made this project as I wanted to help people learn about the environment and make a fun game for everyone to enjoy. In my view, an environment themed game was the perfect way to do it.

One thing that I found difficult was that if my avatar was hovering when it entered the second floor, it would enter it at a much lower height than it should be, preventing it from avoiding enemies. I solved this by using an global variable to detect when the character is in the air.

Next time, I would try and improve the graphics of my design, e.g, making my red poison images a little more neat and sophisticated. I would also try to add some animations, like making my avatar move its legs every time i pressed the left/right button.
