The Project

This Scratch project helps address the issue of insufficient street lighting for truck drivers at night. Users must click on the street lights to turn them on, enabling a car to safely cross the road. The project aims to raise awareness about the importance of proper street lighting for road safety.

Team Comments

We created this project to highlight the dangers truck drivers face due to poor street lighting and to emphasize the need for functional street lights to ensure road safety during night and early morning hours.

Creating streetlight costumes for on and off states was difficult, so we downloaded them from the internet. We also struggled to make the car move only after all lights were on. We resolved this by using variables to track each streetlight's status, ensuring the car moved once all were activated.

If we had more time, we would add varying levels of difficulty, such as broken lights that need to be fixed before turning on.
