We chose to make this project because...

One of the Tanzanian students we were teaching coding was earning money through sketch art. Due to COVID-19, he found it tough to sell his work because of decreased tourism. We wanted to help him by creating a website that would not only sell his art online but also protect his rights.

What we found difficult and how we worked it out

One challenge was expanding our reach to more Tanzanian artists. To overcome it we utilized social media platforms. We also partnered with a university entrepreneur team in Tanzania to promote our project directly to artists. This approach has successfully attracted a diverse group of artists.

Next time, we would...

We aim to use NFTs to protect artists' rights, streamline the US-Tanzania currency exchange for easier artist payments, and enhance our website with interactive timelines that tell artists' stories. We plan to replace Google Forms with a custom app to boost efficiency and user engagement.
