Automatic Plant Watering System

The Project

An automatic plant watering system using an Arduino Uno and a soil moisture sensor monitors soil moisture levels and triggers a water pump when the soil is dry. This setup ensures plants receive consistent watering, improving plant health and conserving water by preventing overwatering.

I chose to make this project because...

I chose the automatic plant watering system project because it combines practical applications of Arduino and sensor technology to solve a common problem. This project is ideal for beginners learning electronics and programing, and it offers tangible benefits such as improving plant health and water

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

I found calibrating the soil moisture sensor challenging due to varying soil types and conditions. I resolved this by testing different moisture thresholds and adjusting the sensor's sensitivity until it reliably triggered the water pump at appropriate moisture levels.

Next time, I would...

With more time, I would integrate a wireless module for remote monitoring and control, allowing real-time adjustments and notifications. Additionally, I would add a solar power system to make the setup more sustainable and self-sufficient.
