Smart Home

The Project

I embarked on creating a smart home system to address electricity wastage and enhance security. The system integrates various components, including a DHT22 sensor for accurate temperature and humidity measurements. Additionally, I incorporated a solar tracker that significantly improves energy efficiency compared to fixed solar panels, achieving approximately 40% greater efficiency. The RFID-based access control ensures security, while the DHT22 sensor optimizes comfort levels.

I chose to make this project because...

I chose to make the project because I often forgot to turn off the light and water the plants. Also, that led to major carbon emissions. I used a solar tracker which is 40% more efficient than fixed solar panels. It is also very secure as it logs all the data of the people who are entering the house

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

I found that I used the Arduino IoT mode for the first time so it was a bit tricky for me.

Next time, I would...

If I had more time I surely added more features like fans to be automatically turning off from the phone like the lights were that way and the air conditioner also could have a monitoring feature so we can monitor how much electricity it is consuming over a time to overcome our carbon emissions.
