HawkEyes

The Project

The HawkEyes system is an autonomous robotic car that enhances urban cleanliness by using AI and computer vision to identify and collect trash. It navigates city environments autonomously, equipped with sensors and cameras that accurately detect and categorize different types of waste. This innovative solution not only improves waste management efficiency but also helps prevent environmental pollution by ensuring trash doesn't enter sewage systems, protecting marine life and ecosystems.

I chose to make this project because...

I was motivated to create the HawkEyes project due to the growing global challenge of waste management and its adverse effects on the environment. Witnessing the impact of unchecked waste accumulation on ecosystems, biodiversity, and human health sparked my desire to develop a technological solutio

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

While developing the HawkEyes project, two major challenges stood out: the scarcity of annotated datasets for training our AI, and the high costs of computing equipment. 1. Annotated Dataset Limitations: Training our AI required extensive datasets with various trash types, which were hard to come b

Next time, I would...

If given more time to develop the HawkEyes project, I would focus on several enhancements to increase its effectiveness and impact. First, I would expand data collection and model training to improve the AI's ability to accurately recognize different types of waste. This would involve incorporating
