MyRiiver

The Project

MyRiiver is an eco-friendly solar-powered automated water monitoring and microplastic filtration system designed to overcome limitations in current methods. MyRiiver employs a sophisticated multi-layered filtration system without requiring pre-treatment, offering advantages over existing methodologies. It also incorporates an App that allows the user to examine the real-time data collected by the sensors(turbidity, TDS, and temperature) in the river.

I chose to make this project because...

Since I was little, I was being taught to protect the environment. Topics such as plastic pollution and climate change often appeared in my life. I want to do something about it. After research, I noticed the microplastics issue was tricky, and people barely know it, so I camed up with a solution.

What I found difficult and how I worked it out

The weight needs to be calculated to find the size of the pontoons and how many are needed. This was arduous, and I had to do an excessive amount of research to create a buoyancy calculator. I can input the weight and other variables to see if this type of pontoon would allow the device to float.

Next time, I would...

I would add AI to the app to predict future data based on the current data collected from the temperature, TDS, and turbidity sensors. This way, I can compare the predicted data with the actual data to analyze if anything is abnormal, and act accordingly to save the ecosystem.
