Ultrasonic Sensor Automatics Bell

The Project

I created an automatic bell. Initially, I worked it out on Tinker-cad(a software which provides similar experience to real life prototypes). The whole idea of my project was to avoid touching the bell, whenever someone is coming to your house. You can easily just swipe your hand within the range of the ultrasonic sensor, and that would trigger the bell to ring. I realised that during such hard times of the Covid pandemic, it would be a brilliant idea to create such a project(one less touch can mean a lot during a pandemic). The idea was a brilliant one, but I was facing a bunch of difficulties, as the Arduino.IDE was a new programming language for me. I took help from a few IIT(Indian Institute of Technology) graduates, whom I knew from an earlier online course, and finally got my code to work properly. I decided to take things to the next level, and I went on to create a working prototype with real world components. If I was fully committed to this project, I would have made the Arduino fully battery powered, so that the Arduino would no longer require a connection to a laptop, or some other device, and it would work independently and would have been ready for commercial use. In the attached video, I have the clips of both Tinkercad programming as well as the working prototype of the project. One thing I want to elaborate about the video is that the serial monitor prints the distance at which the object is present and the Arduino reads that data and accordingly makes or breaks the connection. So, I specifically told the Arduino that whenever an object is in the range of about 30cm from the sensor, the connection has to be on high, which means the connections are interacting with each other as they should, and the bell attached to the Arduino rings. otherwise, the Arduino/mother board breaks the connection.
