"A judge and participant looking at a mobile app at Coolest Projects UK"

Category: Mobile apps

Everything you need to know to enter your mobile app project in a Coolest Projects event.

What counts as a mobile app?

This category covers projects that involve interactive apps for phones or tablets. You could use App Inventor, a free service that allows you to make mobile apps using a blocks-based programming language, or install and use Android Studio, or any other app development platform.

You can demonstrate your app on a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet, or you can use a desktop-based emulator like the one available in Android Studio.

Submitting Mobile apps

For the Coolest Projects online showcase:
Take a short video of your project, upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and make sure it’s set to public, then submit the video URL in the application form.

For Coolest Projects in-person events:
Tell us a bit about your app in the submission form and then bring along a laptop, phone, tablet, or computer to display your app on event day. If you don’t have a device at home, let us know and we can bring one for you to use.
